Damasty® : Iconic Rosa Damascena

The rose is one of the rare flowers that is edible and is used in food products.
Used since ancient times, the Damask rose was part of culinary preparations in Mesopotamia and Persia, notably in the form of scented wine. In the Middle Ages, it found its way into both savory and sweet dishes, prized for its subtle aroma in meat dishes, pastries, and beverages.
Today, its petals and water are commonly used in Middle Eastern and South Asian cuisine. It flavors desserts, traditional spice blends, and refined dishes, reflecting its unique status as an edible flower through the centuries.

At Robertet, each rose tells a story — of deep-rooted partnerships, sustainable practices, and constant innovation.
From pre-financing 50% of the harvest to ensure fair income for producers, to guaranteeing full traceability and exploring upcycling of rose by-products, we honor the rose in every possible way.

Since 1960, Robertet’s essential oil factory in Turkey has stood at the heart of the fields that surround it.
